Trade Associations - Gov GNTO Offices Abroad In Trouble by GTP editing team 1 January 2010 written by GTP editing team 1 January 2010 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 5 Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Angela Gerekou recently commented on critical Greek press articles in regards to the bad management of Greek National Tourism Organization offices abroad. According to Gerekou, the new tourism leadership received the GNTO in the worst economic situation in its history. “We have already launched direct solutions to address any problems encountered in offices abroad and the smooth functioning of all will be restored,” she said. On their part, the GNTO Workers Association issued an announcement in which it made clear that the offices mentioned in Greek press articles are not served by GNTO staff but “recruits of previous administrations” who were hired regardless of their skills and knowledge. The association said that GNTO staff had complained several times in regards to employee choices of previous administrations. As an example, the association mentioned that staff was hired for the new GNTO office in Istanbul even before its office building was established.
