The series of parallel events for the cross-year festivities are set to take place in Moscow, St Petersburg and other Russian cities, as well as across Greece, and will include exchange of art and archaeology exhibits, economic forums and conferences as well as cultural, educational and tourism initiatives. “The ‘Cross-year Greece and Russia’ embraces the two countries’ ties, brings Greece and Russia together, paves the way for bilateral cooperation on all levels, including culture, education, energy, agriculture, tourism and technology,” Mr Baltas said. Within his Athens visit, Mr Prikhodko also met with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, with whom he discussed further cooperation between the two countries. Mr Prikhodko told Kathimerini daily that Russia wishes to further boost relations with Greece, despite the economic sanctions posed by the EU bloc.
