SUMMARY:Psiloritis Race 2018
DESCRIPTION:The International Mountain Race “Psiloritis Race” is an athletic meeting that promotes physical activity in touch with the natural environment. The race offers the opportunity to experience both the unique and exciting character of the mountain and unique vigorous seven-hour race. That is the reason why the athletes who will try out their strength in the PR should practice the philosophy of semi autonomy\, carrying a least required equipment that will provide them with security and sustenance during the race ; while there will be a systematical and in regular intervals supply. \nThe race trail covers the distance that pilgrims of the sacred city of Minoan Knossos used to walk in order to climb Psiloritis mountain and honor their god\, Zeus Cretagenes\, who according to Ancient Greek Mythology was brought up in the cave of Ideon Andron\, worship center and sanctum during the Minoan and Roman times. \nThe race includes: \n1. Trail race of 35km\n2. Kouroutes Street of 8\,5km\n3. Nordic walk of 8\,5km\n4. DESCRIPTION:On June 3 the beautiful island of Kimolos will host the first Kimolos Trail as part of the Cyclades Trail Cup 2018 sport events series. \nIn its 3rd consecutive year in 2018\, Cyclades Trail Cup presents a new set of events in alternative destinations with original routes and exciting cultural experiences! Giving priority to some of the “smaller” Cycladic islands\, the 2018 Championship will include 6 races on 6 islands: Kimolos\, Folegandros\, Ios\, Andros\, Kythnos and Tinos. \nEvery race and course offers score points for Cyclades Trail Cup\, determined by the new CTC_PointSystem. Any athlete who finishes at least one race regardless of distance is eligible to receive points. The athlete that earns the highest amount of points by the end of the year will be the winner of Cyclades Trail Cup 2018.
