SUMMARY:Navarino Challenge 2019
DESCRIPTION:This year’s event will take place during 11-13 October 2019\, in Messinia and Costa Navarino\, anticipating hundreds of professional and amateur athletes\, who will take part in its numerous activities. \nThe multi-awarded sports tourism event\, that promotes sports and fair play as its main goal\, will be\, once again\, full of activities for all ages. \nNavarino Challenge follows\, as every year\, the ideals of the Olympic Movement\, which is to educate youth through sports\, without discrimination and in keeping with the Olympic spirit of fair play. Messinia has started spreading the message “Sports unite people” around the world with the participation of Olympic athletes and hall of famers. \nNavarino Challenge allows participants to be informed and involved in its activities to support the sacred goal of combating childhood obesity through exercise and awareness of the benefits of a Mediterranean diet. \nThis year\, the event will further promote charity by supporting: a) the Institute of Preventive Medicine\, Environmental and Occupational Health\, Prolepsis with a program on Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition\, DIATROFI. \nAdditionally\, the Captain Vasilis and Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation will support b) WWF Hellas and c) Karkinaki. All participants can contribute any sum they wish through the GivenGain online platform. \nNavarino Challenge\, with the most Olympic athletes ever participating as ambassadors in a sports event\, returns again to Messinia\, including more than 30 sports activities (more than 12 Olympic sports). SUMMARY:Santorini Experience 2019
DESCRIPTION:As the registration is open\, the top and highly successful sports tourism event in Greece\, Santorini Experience\, takes place for the 5th consecutive year on the beautiful Cyclades island on October 4-6\, 2019. \nRegister now here.\nFor running fans\, 3 different routes will take place on Saturday October 5\, with the unique images of the volcano as their setting\, overlooking the Caldera and passing through the settlements of Imerovigli\, Firostefani and Oia. In particular\, the 5 km route\, named “Aristides Alafouzos” as of last year\, deals with running and dynamic walking\, the 10 km route is designed for the experienced runners and the 15 km route for those who love power\, stamina\, technique and adrenaline. All routes start from the desalination plant in Oia\, including parts of trail track\, and finish in Oia. The running routes are designed by the former marathon runner\, Greek classic route record holder\, running trainer and director of All About Running\, Nikos Polias. \nOpen water swimming by Vikos\, as always\, takes place at the last day of the event\, Sunday October 6\, and includes the 1\,5 mile (2\,4 km) race. Participants will have the opportunity to swim from the volcano to the old port of Fira. Organization will provide amateur athletes with a high-quality safety lifeguard buoy\, giving them extra motive to choose Santorini Experience. \nSwimming route will take place with the upmost safety in the enchanting sea of Santorini (average water temperature of 20-22 degrees Celsius)\, under the technical direction of federal coach with Olympic and World Championship distinctions\, Nikos Gemelos\, who has designed this unique route. Once again\, specialized lifeguards of Lifeguard Patrol will contribute in safety measures\, providing staff as well as lifeboats. SUMMARY:Andros Trail Race 2019
DESCRIPTION:Andros Trail Race\, that will take place during September 28-29 on Andros island\, is the biggest sport event of the year for the island and the Cyclades in general\, attracting participation of renowned athletes and mountain running fans from around the world. Andros Trail Race is part of the 4th mountain racing championship of the Cyclades aka Cyclades Trail Cup\, which is consisted of 5 races this year on islands of Kea\, Folegandros\, Andros\, Kythnos and Tinos -one on each island- and aspires to include races of all the Cycladic Islands creating a large Cycladic sports event. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to choose between four routes\, the 24km Great route\, the 10km Small route\, the 5km route and the 1km for kids.  \nOrganizers aim to highlight the natural landscape of Andros\, with emphasis in the mountainous mainland and the hiking paths\, establishing the island as a center of alternative tourism and sports\, and the meeting point of Greek and foreign athletes in a great sports celebration! \nIn the same context\, the selection of routes was based on the natural beauty of the island and the hiking trails\, the importance of the interest points and the technical challenges\, which are similar to major mountain running race events. It’s an invitation to change the life style\, a getaway from the daily routine. \nThis event is connected to the carnival\, as it opens the event series of Orchomenos Carnival. The road is some 2\,2km through the town\, with start point the Skripou Square and end point the Iroon Square. \nThe MaskaRun is organized by the Cultural Traditional Club of Orchomenos in cooperation with the website www.asopichos.gr\, as the inspirator of the event is Mr Babis Zannias\, journalist and owner of the above mentioned website. The event is supported by the Orchomenos Municipality\, Motor Club of Orchomenos and much more local institutions and companies.

DESCRIPTION:Costa Navarino presents the 3rd edition of Messinia Pro-Am\, 20-23 February 2019. The international golf tournament will welcome a total of 30 teams\, while professionals will be competing for a total prize fund of 30\,000 euros. \nAmong this year’s participants\, a global sports figure will be joining Messinia Pro-Am: Former international rugby player Mike Tindall that represented England 75 times and 5 times as captain over a 17 year career. \nThe tournament will take place at the award-winning golf courses of Costa Navarino\, which has been selected by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) as the “European Golf Resort of the Year 2017”\, in a landscape full of centuries-old olive trees with stunning views of the Ionian Sea and the historic Bay of Navarino. The two signature 18-hole golf courses\, The Dunes Course and The Bay Course will once again host professional and amateur golfers\, for a four-day event filled with unique experiences both on and off the course. \nRegistrations for the 30 participating teams\, will continue through the event’s official website here until January 18\, 2019. \nMessinia Pro-Am 2019 golfers will be able to get real-time updates on scores both at team and individual levels through the GolfBox live score service. \nThe 30 participating teams (comprising a professional and three amateurs) will compete with each other at The Dunes Course on Thursday\, February 21\, The Bay Course on Friday\, February 22\, and The Dunes Course on Saturday\, February 23\, 2019. DESCRIPTION:Tinos Challenge will be held on 1-2 December on the island of Tinos. Following last year’s successful event the organizers decided this year to upgrade the event providing the participants with the chance to get familiar with the island another season\, unusual for visiting the Greek islands. \nAthletes will have the opportunity to run through ancient and modern alleys of the Tinos island. Organizers aim to highlight the Cultural Heritage and geographic uniqueness of the Tinos and especially of the northwest side of the island. \nTinos Challenge is part of the Cyclades Trail Cup which includes 6 races this year on islands of Kimolos\, Folegandros\, Ios\, Andros\, Kythnos and Tinos -one on each island- and aspires to include races of all the Cycladic Islands creating a large Cycladic sports event. \nThe race includes:\n1.
