DESCRIPTION:The top golf tournament for the shipping community “Greek Maritime Golf Event“\, following its four successful years and its great appeal in the field of Greek and global shipping industry\, returns for the 5th consecutive year at Costa Navarino during 8-9 June 2019. \nGolf enthusiasts activated in the Greek shipping industry will have the chance to compete in the two signature 18-hole courses\, The Dunes Course and The Bay Course\, in a landscape full of centuries-old olive trees with stunning views of the Ionian Sea and the historic Bay of Navarino. \nParticipants will form teams of four golfers and compete at both team and individual levels in a shotgun scramble that will take place on Saturday\, June 8th. Teams participating will claim the prizes for the top three positions in the overall standings; while special awards will be given to individual players who will achieve the best scores in the special categories “Longest Drive“and”Closest to the Pin“. \nThe 5th Greek Maritime Golf Event will reinforce the union “Mazi gia to Paidi” (“Together for Children”) in two ways: \na) During the shotgun scramble\, to be held on Saturday\, June 8th\, morning\, players participating in the tournament can offer the amount they wish to support the good cause of the event. DESCRIPTION:This year’s event will take place on 12-14 October 2018\, in Messinia and Costa Navarino\, anticipating hundreds of professional and amateur athletes\, who will take part in its numerous activities. \nThe multi-awarded sports tourism event\, that promotes sports and fair play as its main goal\, will be\, once again\, full of activities for all ages. Navarino Challenge\, with the most Olympic athletes ever participating as ambassadors in a sports event\, returns again to Messinia\, including more than 20 sports activities (12 Olympic sports). Running\, swimming\, SUP\, as well as the successful recipe of Tae Kwon Do (with two-times silver Olympic medalist\, Alexandros Nikolaidis)\, being examples of the sports featured. \nRunning routes\nParticipants will be able to choose between the Half-Marathon (21\,1km)\, 10km and 5km (running and dynamic walking). Starting from Navarino Dunes of Costa Navarino\, professional and amateur athletes will run along the coast to Pylos crossing the beautiful Voidokilia beach in the unique trail run that combines soil\, sand and street parts. At the same day\, respectively\, the 1km kids running race will be held. Start and finish of each race will be the same. The routes are designed by ex-marathon runner\, holder of the best classic route record in Greece\, trainer and director of All About Running\, Nikos Polias. All participants will be timed. \nOpen water swimming race\nThe fans of open water swimming will compete and be timed for the first time ever at the beautiful Navarino Bay\, at the port of Pylos\, covering the 1 mile (1.6km) special swimming route\, designed by the Federal Swimming Coach\, Nikos Gemelos. \nStand Up Paddling race\nRight after swimming and for the third consecutive year\, the Stand Up Paddling by BIC® Sport relay race will be held. At the port of Pylos\, Navarino Challenge presents the innovative sport of Stand Up Paddling (SUP)\, that has become highly popular around the world. DESCRIPTION:As the registration is open\, the top and highly successful sports tourism event in Greece\, Santorini Experience\, takes place for the 4th consecutive year on the beautiful Cyclades island on October 5-7\, 2018. \nFor the first time Santorini Experience participants will get a special designed technical T-shirt of the event\, while at the same time they will receive even more gifts and surprises by the official sponsors. Specifically\, participation packages in running include bag\, t-shirt\, medal\, entry number and timing chip\, while in swimming\, bag\, t-shirt\, swimming cap\, medal\, tattooed entry number and timing chip. \nRegistration closes on August 31\, 2018. Register now here.\nFor running fans\, 3 different routes will take place on Saturday October 6\, with the unique images of the volcano as their setting\, overlooking the Caldera and passing through the settlements of Imerovigli\, Firostefani and Oia. In particular\, the 5 km route\, named “Aristides Alafouzos” as of last year\, deals with running and dynamic walking\, the 10 km route is designed for the experienced runners and the 15 km route for those who love power\, stamina\, technique and adrenaline. All routes start from the desalination plant in Oia\, including parts of trail track\, and finish in Oia. The running routes are designed by the former marathon runner\, Greek classic route record holder\, running trainer and director of All About Running\, Nikos Polias. \nOpen water swimming\, as always\, takes place at the last day of the event\, Sunday October 7\, and includes the 1\,5 mile (2\,4 km) race. Participants will have the opportunity to swim from the volcano to the old port of Fira. Organization will provide amateur athletes with a high-quality safety lifeguard buoy\, giving them extra motive to choose Santorini Experience. \nSwimming route will take place with the upmost safety in the enchanting sea of Santorini (average water temperature of 20-22 degrees Celsius)\, under the technical direction of federal coach with Olympic and World Championship distinctions\, Nikos Gemelos\, who has designed this unique route. Once again\, specialized lifeguards of Lifeguard Patrol will contribute in safety measures\, providing staff as well as lifeboats. Distinguished age categories will be formed depending on the final participation entries\, while an extra classification for those wearing wetsuits will be added. \nBesides swimming and running\, more activities will be held\, such as the usual 1 km children’s race\, as well as Tae Kwon Do exhibition from the two times silver Olympic medalist\, Alexandros Nikolaidis. \nSantorini Experience is a co-organization of Municipality of Santorini\, DAPPOS and Active Media Group. DESCRIPTION:Andros Trail Race\, that will take place on September 29-30 on Andros island\, is the biggest sport event of the year for the island and the Cyclades in general\, attracting participation of renowned athletes and mountain running fans from around the world. Andros Trail Race is part of the 3nd mountain racing championship of the Cyclades aka Cyclades Trail Cup\, which is consisted of 6 races this year on islands of Kimolos\, Folegandros\, Ios\, Andros\, Kythnos and Tinos -one on each island- and aspires to include races of all the Cycladic Islands creating a large Cycladic sports event. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to choose between four routes\, the 24km Great route\, the 10km Small route\, the 5km route and the 1km for kids.  \nOrganizers aim to highlight the natural landscape of Andros\, with emphasis in the mountainous mainland and the hiking paths\, establishing the island as a center of alternative tourism and sports\, and the meeting point of Greek and foreign athletes in a great sports celebration! \nIn the same context\, the selection of routes was based on the natural beauty of the island and the hiking trails\, the importance of the interest points and the technical challenges\, which are similar to major mountain running race events. DESCRIPTION:Ios Adventure 2018\, to be held on 7-9 September\, will be part of the Cyclades Trail Cup 2018 sport events series. \nIos Adventure incorporates four events\, the Ios Trail Race\, Ios Swim\, Ios Challenge and Ios Paths and is held under the auspices of Ios Municipality. \nIn its 3rd consecutive year in 2018\, Cyclades Trail Cup presents a new set of events in alternative destinations with original routes and exciting cultural experiences! Giving priority to some of the “smaller” Cycladic islands\, the 2018 Championship will include 6 races on 6 islands: Kimolos\, Folegandros\, Ios\, Andros\, Kythnos and Tinos. \nEvery race and course offers score points for Cyclades Trail Cup\, determined by the new CTC_PointSystem. Any athlete who finishes at least one race regardless of distance is eligible to receive points. The athlete that earns the highest amount of points by the end of the year will be the winner of Cyclades Trail Cup 2018.
