DESCRIPTION:The Aegean Regatta 2023 the established sailing race that is an institution for the nautical sports of Greece and has a prominent place in the hearts of sailors and residents of the Aegean Sea\, will be held this year\, for the 22nd time\, from 19-26 August\, centred on the maritime region of the Eastern Aegean. \nThe Aegean Regatta takes place annually since 2001 and is the leading regatta in the Aegean Sea. But what exactly is a regatta? It is a series of boat races mostly with sailing boats that last for a few days and are often surrounded by other events. \nThe routs of the Aegean Regatta change every year. The regatta is not just about winning a prize. It is also about seeing different places\, attracting visitors and simply to enjoy this beautiful sport. DESCRIPTION:After five years\, European Tourism Day is back! \nThis event will be an opportunity to take stock of the EU tourism policy in the context of the green and digital transition\, to follow up on the Tourism Transition Pathway and share the best practices for its co-implementation. On this occasion\, Thierry Breton\, Commissioner for Internal Market\, will exchange with tourism stakeholders in a dedicated opening debate. \nThe European Tourism Day will be a one-day\, onsite high-level meeting with the possibility for additional audiences to follow via web streaming. The session will feature simultaneous interpretation in English\, French\, German\, Italian and Spanish. \nSince 2018\, several challenges have confronted the EU tourism ecosystem\, but it now has the tools to look forward towards 2030. \nAfter a long and intense co-creation process\, the transition pathway for tourism was published in February 2022 and was used as a basis for the European Tourism Agenda 2030\, adopted by the Council last December. \nOn the occasion of European tourism Day 2023\, the European Commission intends to organise \n\nan orientation debate to discuss the resilience of the ecosystem\nthree roundtables\, each focusing on different important aspects such as the twin transition and the upskilling of the workforce in the EU tourism ecosystem\n\nThe event will take place in Brussels on 5 May 2023.

DESCRIPTION:The Kythira Mountain Bike (MTB) Challenge will be held on 1st April 2023 with starting point and finishing line in the village of Potamos. \nOrganized by the Kytherian Foundation for Culture & Development in collaboration with the Hellenic Cycling Federation and made possible with the support of volunteers\, the Kythira Mountain Bike Challenge includes the 74km Kythera Challenge for elite and master riders and two shorter courses: the 33km Kythera X-Pert and 19km Kythera Fun. \nAll races start at 11am on the main square of Potamos village and finish there also. Event organizers said the event will give cyclists a chance to discover the island by bike as well as Kythera’s 182 kilometers of mountain cycling routes\, which are being developed by the Kytherian Foundation for Culture & Development as part of efforts to promote the island as an adventure tourism destination. \nAmong others\, the aim is to create an integrated network of individual\, inter-connected and circular mountain bike courses for all levels.
