SUMMARY:Kythira Mountain Bike (MTB) Challenge 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Kythira Mountain Bike (MTB) Challenge will be held on 1st April 2023 with starting point and finishing line in the village of Potamos. \nOrganized by the Kytherian Foundation for Culture & Development in collaboration with the Hellenic Cycling Federation and made possible with the support of volunteers\, the Kythira Mountain Bike Challenge includes the 74km Kythera Challenge for elite and master riders and two shorter courses: the 33km Kythera X-Pert and 19km Kythera Fun. \nAll races start at 11am on the main square of Potamos village and finish there also. Event organizers said the event will give cyclists a chance to discover the island by bike as well as Kythera’s 182 kilometers of mountain cycling routes\, which are being developed by the Kytherian Foundation for Culture & Development as part of efforts to promote the island as an adventure tourism destination. \nAmong others\, the aim is to create an integrated network of individual\, inter-connected and circular mountain bike courses for all levels. DESCRIPTION:Το 3ο Aegean Yachting Festival θα πραγματοποιηθεί και πάλι στο νησί της Ρόδου από 21.10. έως 23.10.2022 αυτή τη χρονιά\, αλλά μεταφέρεται στη Νέα Μαρίνα της Ρόδου και τις σύγχρονες εγκαταστάσεις της\, καθώς αναμένεται ακόμη μεγαλύτερη προσέλευση από τα προηγούμενα χρόνια τόσο από πλευράς επισκεπτών όσο και από εκθέτες και σκάφη. \nΣκοπός του συγκεκριμένου Φεστιβάλ είναι η προβολή και η ανάδειξη της περιφέρειας του Νοτίου Αιγαίου\, ως ατμομηχανής του θαλάσσιου τουρισμού της χώρας και σταυροδρόμι των χωρών της νοτιοανατολικής Μεσογείου\, με απώτερο σκοπό\, να συνεχίσει να αποτελεί θεσμό τα επόμενα χρόνια και σταθμό για τον θαλάσσιο τουρισμό. \nΓια 1η χρονιά φέτος μετά την υπογραφή μνημονίου συνεργασίας με την έκθεση σκαφών αναψυχής Grand Pavois του La Rochelle Γαλλίας\, της 5ης μεγαλύτερης έκθεσης παγκοσμίως\, θα έχουμε την τιμή να φιλοξενούμε πέραν της διοίκησης της έκθεσης και αρκετούς εκθέτες αλλά και να διευκολύνουμε δικούς μας εκθέτες να παραστούν στην εκεί έκθεση προάγοντας την εξωστρέφεια των επιχειρήσεων μας\, προσφέροντας συνδυαστικά και θελκτικά πακέτα συμμετοχής και για τις δύο εκθέσεις. \nTο Φεστιβάλ τελείται υπό την αιγίδα του Υπουργείου Τουρισμού\, του Υπουργείου Ναυτιλίας\, του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού\, του ΕΟΤ\, του Ναυτικού Επιμελητηρίου Ελλάδος\, της Περιφέρειας Νοτίου Αιγαίου\, του Δήμου Ρόδου\, του ΔΟΠΑΡ\, του Επιμελητηρίου Δωδεκανήσου & της Ένωσης Ξενοδόχων Ρόδου.

SUMMARY:The Authentic Marathon Swim 2022
DESCRIPTION:The Authentic Marathon Swim race comes 2\,500 years later\, at the place where it started\, in Artemision. The authentic marathon swimming route performed by Skyllias together with his daughter Hydna revives by uniting the legend with history. \nThe great historic sporting event includes 10km\, 3km\, 1\,5km and an 800m swimming race for kids to be held on July 1-3\, 2022\, at Pefki\, Evia in the Municipality of Istiaia-Edipsos. \nThe event prioritizing the absolute safety of its athletes\, will provide everyone with a high-quality safety lifeguard buoy\, giving them an extra motive to choose The Authentic Swimming Marathon. The swimming route will be held at the straits of Artemision where the average water temperature is between 23-26 degrees Celsius. Specialized lifeguards and lifeboats will contribute to the safety of the race. Different categories will be formed for swimmers depending on the total number of participants\, while a separate category will be formed for those wearing wetsuits in the 3km and 1.5 categories. The event offers race timing for all swimmers. The Authentic Marathon Swim will be held with the approval of the Hellenic Swimming Federation\, according to FINA regulations. \nThe noteworthy event will be honored by the presence of the silver Olympic medalist\, world champion in open water swimming and member of the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame\, Spyros Gianniotis. Prominent personalities of international swimming will take part at The Authentic Marathon Swim. According to Herodotus\, the story of Skyllias and Hydna explains that in 480 B.C. they were arrested by Persians and boarded onto their ships\, as the Persians wanted to use the pair of proficient divers for an extensive exploration of underwater treasures from shipwrecks of that time and age. Subsequently\, the historical swimmers realized that Persians planned on using them in an upcoming naval combat in Artemision\, meaning that Skyllias and Hydna would have to face their Greek compatriots. The Ancient-Greek heroes jumped into the sea\, sliced the ropes from the anchors of Persian ships and started swimming towards Artemision in order to inform the Greek Naval Forces. The historical achievements of Skyllias and Hydna have been recorded from Herodotus\, “The Father of History”\, who has praised them for their unique swimming ability and the importance of the information they offered to the Greeks\, allowing the Naval Forces to prepare for their upcoming Battle of Salamis and their eventual triumph. Moreover\, the simultaneous holding of two events gives the opportunity to Greek attendees and international hosted buyers to witness the full range and variety of Greek wine and gastronomy. \nFrom 12-14 March 2022\, executives from across the spectrum of production\, standardization\, distribution and marketing of wines and spirits\, as well as that of hospitality\, foodservice and catering and important wine importers from abroad will have the opportunity to discover the full range and variety of Greek wines and spirits\, among 170 unique exhibitors. \nRecognizing the importance\, prestige and international prospects of Oenotelia\, the Greek Wine Federation has taken the trade fair under its auspices and actively supports it. \nOenotelia has managed to become the only specialized wine and spirits exhibition in Greece\, with a purely professional character and an international orientation. \n
