It will be hosted by the Institute for Marine Biology Biotechnology and Aquaculture\, Hellenic Centre for Marine Research.  \nSandy beach scientists\, students and managers at all levels are invited to participate and share their research\, making this symposium a platform to interact\, establish links and identify synergies across disciplines. \nIn this perspective\, keynotes and workshops are planned as occasion to connect disciplines and experiences\, highlight gaps and raise questions to be addressed with forthcoming research. \nThe keynotes and sessions proposed are based on the recommendations provided by participants to previous editions of ISBS. The idea of continuity and working together\, including a high involvement of participants\, is key to this symposium. \nContributions from all disciplines around the topic of sandy beaches are welcome\, from biogeochemistry to animal behaviour\, to biogeography and numerical modelling. To facilitate interdisciplinarity an sharing of perspectives\, there will not be parallel sessions. \nThe ISBS2018 will be paired with  4th International Conference on Decision Support System Technology – ICDSST 2018 & PROMETHEE DAYS 2018 which will focus on Sustainable Data-Driven & Evidence-based Decision Support with applications to the Environment and Energy sector. DESCRIPTION:On June 30 the picturesque island of Folegandros will host the first Folegandros Sunset Trail as part of the Cyclades Trail Cup 2018 sport events series. \nIn its 3rd consecutive year in 2018\, Cyclades Trail Cup presents a new set of events in alternative destinations with original routes and exciting cultural experiences! Giving priority to some of the “smaller” Cycladic islands\, the 2018 Championship will include 6 races on 6 islands: Kimolos\, Folegandros\, Ios\, Andros\, Kythnos and Tinos. \nEvery race and course offers score points for Cyclades Trail Cup\, determined by the new CTC_PointSystem. Any athlete who finishes at least one race regardless of distance is eligible to receive points. The athlete that earns the highest amount of points by the end of the year will be the winner of Cyclades Trail Cup 2018.
