DESCRIPTION:The YPERIA International Convention on Tourism and Culture will be held during 31 October – 5 November 2019 on Amorgos island\, for the 17th consecutive year. \nThe Convention aims to promote the natural beauty and culture of Amorgos\, foster an exchange of ideas on cultural heritage preservation\, as well as present and promote current projects on the island of Amorgos. \nJust like every year\, YPERIA is expecting a great number of participants: journalists\, filmmakers\, producers\, photographers/reporters and tour operators. \nThe “17th Amorgos Convention of Culture & Tourism” is dedicated to “Cultural Environment” and will focus on Gastronomy\, Ecology\, Rural Amorgos Architecture and Unesco. \nRepresentatives of Women’s Associations in the Cyclades and the Municipalities of  South Aegean Region will present their products\, their local flavors and dishes. \nThe 10th Amorgos Tourism Film Festival will take place within the frame of YPERIA. \nThe convention will be held in English and is organized by the Cultural Association of Women of Amorgos in cooperation with the Municipality of Amorgos and the South Aegean Region. \nRegistrations are already open and participation form should be submitted no later than September 1st\, 2019 via website. \nThe Greek Travel Pages (GTP) is a media partner of the Yperia 2019.

SUMMARY:Amorgos Tourism Film Festival 2019
DESCRIPTION:The Amorgos Tourism Film Festival is an annual 4-day event\, with every day screenings\, held during the works of the YPERIA International Convention on Culture and Tourism. \nAs of 2017\, the Amorgos Festival is a member of the international organization CIFFT\, based in Vienna. The festival has daily projections during the Yperia Conference\, at Aegialis Hotel & Spa. Each year\, it awards the best choices of documentaries\, and travel films\, that contribute to the development of domestic and foreign tourism and to the implementation of green practices. \nThe Festival’s main intention is to set up an international platform with a view to encouraging global tourism through audio-visual media. Every year\, the best films\, documentaries and activities that contribute to the development of domestic and foreign tourism and the implementation of green practices\, are nominated for an award. Tourism films are a good opportunity to address important issues and highlight the cultural and environmental richness of a place. \nFor the 4th year the Festival hosts the tribute “Youth & Employment\, Women &  Employment” is implemented through the Operational Program & Human Resources Development\, Education and Lifelong Learning and is co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund) and Greek state. Its co-funded projects deal mostly with the improvement of education and employment in Greece. Its main targets relate to the development and promotion of human resources skills\, activities against unemployment\, strengthen social cohesion and social inclusion of vulnerable social groups\, improvement of the quality of education & lifelong learning\, awareness on environmental education\, linking education with the labor market. The film tribute has free admission and it’s accessible to disabled people. \nThe Festival aims:\n– To contribute to the development of domestic (particularly on Amorgos and the Cyclades islands) and foreign tourism.\n– To popularize and encourage the implementation of green practices in tourism driven by the need for social responsibility and sustainable development.\n– To encourage short film production and foster a spirit of friendship and cooperation among producers from around the world. \nEvery year the Festival awards the best tourism films and documentaries\, selected by an international jury team. \nThe festival is organized by the Cultural Association of Women of Amorgos in cooperation with the Municipality of Amorgos and the South Aegean Region. \nEntries are already opened until 20th of August 2019 via festival’s official web page and film freeway platform and the submission of Greek production is free of charge. DESCRIPTION:The 37th ‘Athens Marathon. The Authentic’ will be held on November 10\, 2019 by the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) with the support & sponsorship of the state as well as the private sector. \nThe Athens Marathon\, an event with 122 years of history\, has managed to increase participation from 4\,000 runners in 2005 to more than 43\,000 in 2016. DESCRIPTION:Cyclades Trail Cup presents every year a series of sport events on Cyclades islands. It highlights\, exploits and maintains the trail network by organizing mountain races that aim to promote Cyclades as a destination for alternative\, cultural and sport tourism. \nThe cultural program of the Cyclades Trail Cup aims to provide visitors with a unique experience and promote Greece’s archaeology\, mythology\, traditional music\, dance and gastronomy. \nHeld for a 4th consecutive year\, CTC presents a new set of events on five islands – Kea\, Folegandros\, Andros\, Kythnos and Tinos – offering challenging routes and unique experiences. \nDuring November 30 – December 1 the island of Tinos will host the Tinos Challenge as part of the Cyclades Trail Cup 2019 sport events series. \nThe race includes:\n1.
