SUMMARY:Santorini Experience 2017
DESCRIPTION:The sports tourism event “Santorini Experience” that drew the attention of all sports friends and offered unique moments and emotions to professional and amateur athletes\, returns for third consecutive year on the energetic volcanic island of Santorini in the second weekend of October! \nThis year’s event program includes open water swimming from volcano to the old port of Fira. The swimming route has been designed by the Federal Technical Coach of Swimming\, awarded with Olympic and World medals in open water swimming\, Nikos Gemelos\, who will be the Technical Director of the event in swimming. Moreover\, great names of our national team\, such as the Olympic and World Champion in open water swimming\, Spyros Gianniotis and the World Champion in open water swimming\, Kelly Araouzou\, along with a many leading athletes in open water swimming like Antonis Fokaidis\, Giorgos Arniakos and Dimitris Negris will take part in this year “Santorini Experience”. \nRespectively\, various running routes will take place at the magical path that connects Oia to Fira\, overlooking the Caldera. This year’ s routes have been selected by the former marathon runner\, holder of national best performance on the classical route\, running coach\, manager of All About Running and technical director of the event in running\, Nikos Polias. \n“Santorini Experience” is a collaboration between the Municipality of Santorini\, the Municipal Sports Cultural Environmental Organization of Santorini and Active Media Group. SUMMARY:Navarino Challenge 2017
DESCRIPTION:Τhe multiple award-winning sports tourism event  “Navarino Challenge” comes back for the 5th year in a row on October 13th to 15th 2017\, in Messinia and in Costa Navarino! This year’s event will be held in October aiming to assist the extension of region’s tourism season. \nIn “Navarino Challenge” each year participate people of all ages. The non-competitive event aims to raise awareness about the benefits of healthy living\, exercise and the Mediterranean diet as well as the issue of childhood obesity through its numerous sports activities. \nIn the agenda of “Navarino Challenge” will include the Half Marathon\, the 10km route\, the 5km route (running and dynamic walking)\, the 1km for children and the activities of open water swimming\, climbing\, bike-riding\, pilates\, boccia\, basketball and kick boxing\, and activities such as SUP (Stand up Paddling)\, golf\, baby swimming\, aqua aerobics and diving while the people attending should expect even more surprises. \nΤhe event has also been honored in Tourism Awards with Gold Award in the categories “Sports Tourism”\, “Strategic Partnership” & “Tourism of Health and Wellness” and with Silver Award in the category “Public Relations – Media Coverage”. It has been distinguished by the European Commission & the Hellenic General Secretariat of Sports for its participation in the European Week of Sport 2015.
