DESCRIPTION:The YPERIA International Convention on Tourism and Culture will be held during 31 October – 5 November 2019 on Amorgos island\, for the 17th consecutive year. \nThe Convention aims to promote the natural beauty and culture of Amorgos\, foster an exchange of ideas on cultural heritage preservation\, as well as present and promote current projects on the island of Amorgos. \nJust like every year\, YPERIA is expecting a great number of participants: journalists\, filmmakers\, producers\, photographers/reporters and tour operators. \nThe “17th Amorgos Convention of Culture & Tourism” is dedicated to “Cultural Environment” and will focus on Gastronomy\, Ecology\, Rural Amorgos Architecture and Unesco. \nRepresentatives of Women’s Associations in the Cyclades and the Municipalities of  South Aegean Region will present their products\, their local flavors and dishes. \nThe 10th Amorgos Tourism Film Festival will take place within the frame of YPERIA. \nThe convention will be held in English and is organized by the Cultural Association of Women of Amorgos in cooperation with the Municipality of Amorgos and the South Aegean Region. \nRegistrations are already open and participation form should be submitted no later than September 1st\, 2019 via website. \nThe Greek Travel Pages (GTP) is a media partner of the Yperia 2019.

The main scope of discussion will be “Cinema – A Challenge for Local Economic Development” and will inspect subjects such as: \n\nFilm Commission – A tool of Attraction for International Productions\nThe Role of Cinema Festivals for word wide promotions  – As CIFFT case\n“Film tourism in Greece: The economical & legal possibilities for investing in a film production in Greece ”\n\nDuring YPERIA Convention\, participants will discover the island\, walk the ancient hiking paths\, visit the historical monuments\, collect aromatic herbs from the mountains\, visit the essential oil distillery laboratory\, enjoy local products\, attend traditional festivities and get introduced to the work of different artists through exhibitions (ceramic\, photography\, handicraft). \nThe 8th International Short Tourism Film Festival of Amorgos will take place within the frame of YPERIA. \nThe Convention will be held in English. Accommodation\, food and tours on Amorgos are offered by the organizers. The participation form should be submitted no later than September 1st\, 2017.
