DESCRIPTION:The 37th ‘Athens Marathon. The Authentic’ will be held on November 10\, 2019 by the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) with the support & sponsorship of the state as well as the private sector. \nThe Athens Marathon\, an event with 122 years of history\, has managed to increase participation from 4\,000 runners in 2005 to more than 43\,000 in 2016. The Athens Marathon is enhanced by the willingness of 3\,000 volunteers and it is totally supported by several authorities of the public and private sector. \n2019 marks a new era for the Athens Marathon; a period of time that will lead to even greater development and increase of participation\, aiming at reaching the target of 80\,000 entries in 2026 when the Athens Marathon will be celebrating its 130 years anniversary. \nOn that ground\, and motivated by the major appeal of the Athens Marathon within Greece and abroad\, the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) responds to the demand for more entries\, making radical changes in the event’s schedule and infrastructure. \nThe 10km Road Race will\, from now on\, be held on Saturday afternoon (meaning the day before the Marathon Race\, on 9 November 2019)\, allowing the organizers to extend the maximum registration limit and allow participation to even more members of the running community \nAll event’s races will finish in the historic Panathenaic Stadium.The Marathon Race\, held on the Authentic Marathon Course will be held as usual on Sunday 10 November 2019 \nFor event’s further details check the program. \nStay up to date by following Athens Marathon.
