DESCRIPTION:The Aegina Fistiki Fest will take place for the 10th consecutive year on 13-16 September 2018\, organised by the Municipality of Aegina in collaboration with local producers. \nWith “Sweet Pistachio” Aegina welcome the visitors to this year’s festival. It is a theatrical presentation which will take you back in time to the 1960s\, creating a vintage atmosphere along with the orchestra of traditional instruments and local dance groups. \nApart from the trade exhibition along the coastline of Aegina’s town\, the Aegina Fistiki Fest includes gastronomy events\, creative activities\, workshops for children\, concerts\, seminars etc. \nThe fest is dedicated to the internationally known Pistachio (Fistiki) of Aegina Island (a Protected Designation of Origin product) with its unique taste and quality. DESCRIPTION:The Public Benefit Enterprise of Aegina Municipality\, the Municipal Sport Organization of Aegina\, the Municipal Section of Aegina and OAK of Aegina (Sport Club) organize the 6th road race “Ioannis Kapodistrias” under the auspices of Attica Region\, Aegina Municipality and SEGAS. Many local organizations and institutions support the race too. \nIoannis Kapodistrias\, the first governor of the modern Greece\, is the most important figure of country’s contemporary history. Aegina island was his arrival spot\, where he entered administration duties and called Aegina as country’s first capital.
