The tourism ministry recently organized the second International Conference of the Forum for Tourism Education and Training in Athens.

At the start of the two-day conference, Spyros Efstathopoulos, secretary general of the ministry, stressed the importance of education and ongoing training within the rapidly changing business arena. He expressed his confidence that the conclusions of the conference will act as a useful guide for the future efforts of the ministry to upgrade the quality of tourism products and services.

Among topics discussed at the conference were the professional needs of the Greek tourism sector operators and their alignment with the absorption of graduates in tourism education and training.
Other issues covered concerned tourism education and training at the level of postgraduate and doctoral studies, private education and the evaluation of the curriculum in higher tourism education.
