According to the Greek Civil Aviation Authority, at the time of the company’s closure a total of 85,000 people were stranded abroad and 200,000 had made advanced bookings. XL Leisure Group, which operated XL airlines and flew to 50 destinations, offered flights and package holidays to the Mediterranean, including Greek islands (Crete, Rodos, Zakynthos) and the Caribbean.
