Company updates Travelport Announces New Agreements by Nikos Krinis 1 December 2008 written by Nikos Krinis 1 December 2008 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 5 Travelport, one of the world’s leading global distribution systems providers (Worldspan, Galileo and Apollo) recently teamed up with Microsoft Corp. to develop an integrated set of services targeted for the travel industry to address challenges faced by travelers, suppliers, and travel agents. Through this collaboration, Microsoft and Travelport will explore the development of services designed to improve the traveler experience and to provide airlines, travel suppliers, and travel agencies, including travel management companies and online travel agents, with new revenue and cost reduction opportunities, broader distribution reach, and improved customer satisfaction and loyalty. The services are slated for the first quarter of 2009. Travelport also announced a new, full content agreement with bmi, the second largest airline at London Heathrow. Under the new agreement, all Worldspan and Galileo-connected travel agents worldwide are provided with access to all of the airline’s fares and inventory, including its lowest web only fares. In addition Travelport also signed a two-year content agreement with Air China. This partnership will give Worldspan, Galileo and Apollo connected agents worldwide access to Air China’s international fares, schedules, inventory and functionalities. Among initiatives, Travelport also achieved a key milestone in the consolidation of its global data center operations, as it successfully migrated its Galileo, Apollo and airline host reservations systems from Denver to Atlanta and resulted in a significant upgrade in equipment and operating environment.
