The administration of the Piraeus Port Authority recently announced that the port would maintain its current prices for at least the first half of 2009 given that any attempted adjustment will burden the market due to the economic crisis.

“The decision of the Piraeus Port Authority to not increase prices at the expense of passengers and to restrain the prices in the sector of the passenger port, cruise and general services to 95 percent will help face the economic crisis,” the Piraeus Commercial Association said.

In the meantime, the Piraeus Port Authority announced turnover for the third quarter of 2008, which decreased by 34.47 percent when compared with the relevant period of the 2007 financial year.
