Only bicycles or other means that are friendly to the environment will be permitted on the grounds. In an attempt to restore the natural environment that was damaged by the destructive fires of 2007, a reforestation campaign in the woods of Kaiafa was recently held by the Tourism Development Company in cooperation with the Olympia Forestry and volunteer groups. The first phase of the project saw the planting of 4,000 pine tree saplings from a total of 12,000 trees that are to cover an area of 12 hectares, while the total forestation will include the planting of some 40,000 pine tree saplings. The Kaiafa woods falls into the list of public tourist properties that are managed by the Tourism Development Company. The company plans to create a model rural tourism center that will emphasize the protection of the environment.
