Hotels In Athens Get Some Space

The Athens-Attica Hoteliers Association announced last month that it has finally succeeded to obtain free space in front of the city’s hotels to facilitate the comfortable entrance and exit of tourists to and from taxis, buses, coaches and cars.

According to a recent announcement, after years of pressure from the association’s part and with the assistance of the Athens Tourism and Economic Development Company, Athens City Council in September finally approved a measure within the framework of the city’s municipal parking system, which allows hoteliers in Athens to “reserve free space in front of hotels.”

The hotels are to be charged a fee payable to the municipality and receive three-year licences that are renewable.

Although parking is prohibited vehicles will be allowed to stop and disembark or board visitors.

This applies to hotels operating in the City’s jurisdiction and areas that are expected to join the City of Athens’ municipal parking system.
