The new tourism museum would add to tourism’s connection with culture and contribute to the awareness of tourism students, tourism business executives and tour operators, Tourism Minister Kostas Markopoulos recently said after the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation for the establishment of a tourism museum and a toy museum.

The memorandum of cooperation for the establishment of the tourism museum -a project discussed from 2000- was signed between the Tourism Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization and the Association of Women in Tourism.

The new tourism museum will be located in a building located in the Plaka district.

In addition, a toy museum -aimed to be the biggest of its kind in Europe- will be established in Mihaniona, Thessaloniki and display 50,000 toys and exhibits that relate to children.
