The fact that the olive collection is carried out in late September (much earlier than others) are the factors that makes the oil “Protolado” special.

The traditional annual event for the fine olive oil “Protolado” was held by Stater Ltd on Sunday, 17 November, at the Bernier/Eliades Gallery in Thiseio, Athens.

Following efforts of more than 12 years, this high quality product has finally been certified as a Protected Destination of Origin (PDO) product.

Although, harvest was relatively low this year, due to numerous reasons, the region of Tsakaladika in Chalkidiki steadily produces a good quantity of olives.

Apart from the “Protolado,” other olive products were offered during the event such as crushed green olives, almades olives from Chalkidiki, olive froth and almades spread, as well as dolmadakia (stuffed vine leaves), pickled capers and rock-samphire, wholesome breads, organic raisins from Crete, tsipouro from Kythira and tsikoudia from Crete.

The soul of the event and concept, Dimitris Portolos, was present and together with his colleagues, informed the many guests that honored the event with their presence.
