The company particularly organizes “sail & bike” holidays. Located in Thessaly, central Greece, Mount Pelion is considered the ideal destination for “hotel & bike” holidays, due to its long cycling paths and natural beauty. Representatives of Islandhopping’s Greek subsidiary, “Cycle Expedition Greece”, have repeatedly visited the mountain, while they recently held talks with Thessaly’s vice governor, Thanasis Pedis. Photo Source: Inselhüpfen Speaking to the Greek Travel Pages, managing director of “Cycle Expedition Greece” Giannis Falelakis said the region could become a major destination for cyclists from April to June, as long as the Greek state, local officials and entrepreneurs maintain and promote the region’s cycling paths. “Safety and infrastructure are essential for a destination to be suitable for cyclists,” Falelakis underlined. “The area’s cycling paths should be maintained, while traffic signs should also be added,” said. Islandhopping for the last 11 years has been organizing “sail & bike” holidays to the Cyclades, the Southern Aegean islands and the Ionian islands for travelers coming mainly from the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, the U.K., Australia and Switzerland. “Participants particularly enjoy sailing and touring the islands on their bicycles when on shore”, Falelakis noted. The company is also organizing bicycle tours to Croatia, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Denmark, the UK, Vietnam, Montenegro, Albania and Turkey.
