The chamber will showcase various products and recipes from different parts of Greece that tourists can find on the breakfast menus of hotels in the country. The Food Expo event is considered the largest food and beverage exhibition in Southeast Europe and one of the most important of its kind globally. The Greek Breakfast project was launched by the hotel chamber to promote and establish the country’s gastronomy through Greek hotels and this way contribute to the enrichment of Greece’s tourism product. At the Food Expo 2019 event, the Greek Breakfast spot can be found in Hall 2, Stand C27-D34 of the Metropolitan Expo. During the three-day exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to taste authentic Greek products at the chamber’s specially designed stand that will host many producers from different regions of Greece. The gastronomy fest will include live cooking actions by Chef Statos Iosifellis. Since its official launch in 2012, over 1,200 hoteliers across Greece have incorporated local products into their morning offerings, this way upgrading their quality, promoting local culinary traditions and paving the way for financial benefits for local communities. Organized by Forum SA, Food Expo 2019 will become the meeting point for more than 70,000 professionals from the organized retail, wholesale as well as the foodservice sector. The event will feature 1,300 Greek and international exhibitors, 50,000m2 of exhibition space and approximately 5,000 key international food traders.
