Selina, an international hospitality brand, has appointed George Liakakos as its Country Sales & Marketing Director for Greece. Liakakos is based at Selina’s new offices in Athens, having as a main focus the development of the brand in the Greek market. Selina, the global community of ”hidden gem” destinations “built for today’s nomads to live, work and explore anywhere in the world”, announced its entrance in the Greek market last summer. “I am very happy to represent such a diverse brand and also have the responsibility to develop it in my home country,” Liakakos told GTP Headlines. In his new role at Selina, Liakakos will aim to deliver sales and revenue growth, while increasing brand and destination awareness. He will also cultivate strong relationships with the local communities where Selina’s properties will be located. “While the potential of the Greek market is very positive, a good plan and proper organization are keys to success,” he added. Liakakos began his career in the hospitality industry at the five-star Athenaeum InterContinental Athens Hotel. Prior to joining the Selina brand this past May, Liakakos served in a number of managerial positions for both local and international brands, including travel giant TUI and the President Hotel in Athens; and promising startups such as Welcome Pickups. He fluently speaks Greek, English and Italian and holds an MBA in International Business from the MIB Trieste School of Management.
