Active in the global travel market for 17 years, Excite Holidays is a B2B platform based in Sydney, Australia. Run by Yiorgos Papaioannou and Nikos Stavropoulos, the company’s purpose is to provide the travel trade with reach and accessibility to the world’s largest accommodation, transfer and activity inventory at competitive prices. The company’s first meet up in Athens took place at the Airotel Alexandros hotel and saw the attendance of many local travel agents who were introduced to Excite Holidays’ proprietary software and solutions. During the event, the company’s CEO, Yiorgos Papaioannou, briefed the travel agencies on the company’s “side-by-side” strategy, as he called it. With a particular focus on Southeast Asia, Europe, and major US states, Excite Holidays provides the travel trade with over 400,000 accommodations, 100,000 activities, 1,250 transfer services in over 100 countries and ferry tickets. “We have been standing by travel agents for 17 years and now we are also next to the Greek professionals, supporting them with very good prices and excellent services around the world,” Papaioannou said during his speech. After the event, attendees had the chance to network with representatives of Excite Holidays at the Mavili Beach, located on the roof of the Airotel Alexandros hotel. Attendees of the event included representatives from travel agencies Signature Travel, Thiamis Tours, Mideast Travel Worldwide, Dimidis Tours, Cosmorama Travel, City Plaza Travel Services, Love Your Holidays, Manessis Travel, Cosmoroes, Athens Direct Travel, Fantasy Travel, Afea Travel and Congress Services, Seretis Travel and Smile Acadimos.
