Launched in 2017 by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, the event focuses on the latest trends and developments in the global hospitality industry and aims to serve as an informative tool for Greek hoteliers. According to the chamber, Phocuswright will organize a very interesting and informative panel discussion during the the forum, which will take place on Saturday, November 23, at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens. Phocuswright’s panel discussion is titled The Challenge of Driving Direct Bookings – Taking back control over hotel distribution. “The chamber stands by Greek hoteliers, helping them to continuously improve their product, as global developments in the hospitality sector require awareness, information, innovation and constant adaptation,” the chamber’s president, Alexandros Vassilikos, said. Phocuswright’s panel is one of the three themes that will be focused on during the 3rd International Hospitality Forum. The other two themes to be discussed are: – Rethinking Hotel F&B – Stop thinking of hotel F&B as hotel F&B – Happy Workforce – Happy Guest – Increase your employee engagement by challenging existing norms. All panel discussions will host Greek and international experts, prominent academics and representatives of recognized consulting firms. “The International Hospitality Forum, with cutting-edge topics and excellent participating in the panel discussions, for the third consecutive year will give ‘food for thought’ and action,” he said. Moreover, following the collapse of UK tour operator Thomas Cook and its impact on Greek hotels, the forum will also propose solutions for hotels looking to gradually detach from large tour operators and OTAs and discuss the risks that are expected to follow. The 3rd International Hospitality Forum will take place on the sidelines of the Xenia 2019 exhibition that will run November 23-25 and is organized by Forum S.A..
