During a press conference held earlier in the day, the minister said that arrival numbers this year are showing a three percent increase, compared to 2018. “The quality, the sustainability and the authenticity of the Greek tourism product will form the basis of our new strategy,” the minister underlined. Competition: Greece has nothing to fear Moreover, Minister Theoharis referred to Greece’s tourism competitors. “The tourism ministry is monitoring competition and is taking the necessary steps to support the already strong Greek tourism product,” he said, adding that in the medium term, the competition does not worry him. “As long as there is stability in our region, in the Southeastern Mediterranean, in North Africa and in the surrounding area, tourist flows in the region will increase and all will win. Our country has a very strong product and has nothing to fear,” he said. Greece @ WTM London 2019 Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis with representatives of Jet2.com.
