Christos Tsiarkas was recently appointed as the new general manager of the four-star The Athens Gate Hotel in the center of the Greek capital.

The Athens Gate Hotel is located near the historic district of Plaka, opposite to the Temple of Olympian Zeus, 500 meters from the Acropolis and 100 meters from the Acropolis Museum.

Christos began his professional career in hospitality on Spetses, while he was studying tourism business administration at the Technological and Educational Institute (TEI) of Piraeus in 2006, when the school was still on the island.

Having more than 12 years of experience in hotels both in Greece and abroad, Christos has worked for renowned brands and has held management positions at companies such as the Daniel Thwaites PLC (as Deputy General Manager) in England (the hotel was announced as UK Hotel Group of the Year 2016-17).

He was also the pre-opening manager of the Katikies Resorts & Club in Greece and manager of the new Katikies Garden Hotel (affiliated with Leading Hotels of the World), located in Fira on Santorini.

“With a customer-centric mindset, great attention to detail and with a thirst for continuous improvement, I take off on this new business journey aiming to bring the hotel to new heights,” Christos told GTP Headlines.

An award-winning hotel, the Athens Gate attracts business and city break travelers year round due to its proximity to Athens’ city center. It also offers easy access to the Athens International Airport and the port of Piraeus.
