Company updates TUI Cancels Travel to Greek Islands on England‘s Quarantine List by Nikos Krinis 8 September 2020 written by Nikos Krinis 8 September 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 14 TUI UK announced that it was cancelling all holiday packages to the Greek islands of Santorini, Zakynthos, Crete (Chania and Heraklion) and Mykonos after their inclusion on England’s quarantine list. The tour operator said it took the decision due to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development office’s (FCDO) advice against all but essential travel to a number of Greek islands due to the coronavirus (Covid-19). According to the company’s policy, travel is offered only to quarantine-free destinations. “This is a very unfortunate development. However, Greece remains a significant destination for TUI Group and our decision will be revised after September 22,” TUI Group spokesperson Evangelos Georgiou told GTP Headlines, adding that the company respects the local assessment of authorities regarding quarantine decisions. In addition, TUI UK also decided to no longer offer holidays to Laganas (Zakynthos) or Malia (Crete) until October 31, due to the recent positive cases from customers returning from those resorts. All of TUI’s customers impacted from the cancellations will be notified and offered to amend or cancel and receive a full cash refund.
