Dream Blue was established in January 2021 by Despina Giannakopoulou, a tourism executive with a long experience in hospitality and also the managing director of the Vigla Hotel on Amorgos. After a challenging year for the international tourism industry due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Giannakopoulou and the team of Vigla Hotel took the decision to open Dream Blue to offer authentic experiences to travelers. Dream Blue offers the following tours and activities: • A 12-day adventure on Amorgos, Naxos and the Small Cyclades – Schinoussa, Iraklia – with activities including hiking, sailing and cooking classes. • A road trip on Amorgos with information about the island’s history and cultural heritage. • Hiking on Amorgos with three different routes and sites of interest including the Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa, Asfontilitis, Lagada – one of the oldest villages of the island, and the popular village of Tholaria. • Cooking classes, activities for children, dance lessons and donkey rides. “These are lifetime experiences that reveal the rich cultural, historical and natural heritage of Amorgos and help visitors better understand local people and their daily life,” Giannakopoulou said. “Through the new travel agency, we will have the chance to show guests our own authentic Amorgos, in the way we see it, as locals,” she added. Amorgos is the easternmost island of the Cyclades, known for its unique nature, traditional architecture and tranquil environment.
