The Arcadia Chamber is planning to create an online platform that will promote the area’s destinations, experiences and products to potential visitors. According to the president of the chamber’s tourism department, Yiannis Sambrakos, the platform will include holiday packages to Arcadia as well as products of local businesses that are directly or indirectly related to tourism. These may include restaurants, transport companies, experience providers, shops and hotels, among others. “Arcadia has many small quality hospitality units rather than large hotels. We thought of taking the initiative to create holiday packages that would be available through the platform with the aim to promote Arcadia but also its local products,” Sambrakos underlined during an an online press event on Monday. “This is a pioneering, innovative project, which we plan to present as soon as we are ready,” he said. The President of the Arcadia Chamber Tourism Department Yiannis Sambrakos According to Sambrakos, the platform is expected to offer small-sized businesses the opportunity to take action and connect with international tourism businesses and foreign tour operators. On the other hand, it will provide visitors with a whole new experience that will begin with their arrival and stay, and continue with tours, gastronomy events and experiences, until their departure. “Arcadia combines many diverse tourism activities. It offers unique hiking trails, historic places, religious destinations, sea and sun, as well as winter destinations. It can provide a personalized experience to every traveler,” Sambrakos underlined. The platform will be developed through the chamber’s “Agapinor Center for the Development of Entrepreneurship”, with the support of an EU innovation program.
