The luxury hotel offers a total of 60 rooms including three suites, two restaurants, an indoor heated pool, a spa and a fitness center. Inspired by ancient Athenian wisdom and intellect, Academias is a luxury city hotel portraying a contemporary interpretation of Plato’s Academy. Blending the old with the new, the hotel embodies the three principles of the historic academy – Science, Art and Philosophy, and brings them to life through its spaces. The famous quotes of ancient Greek philosophers – such as Plato, Aristotle and Socrates – are discretely displayed on the hotel’s walls. Academias Hotel is located in the district of Kolonaki near the center of Athens, within a walking distance from the Acropolis and other Athens historic landmarks, as well as from the city’s shopping areas, art galleries and vibrant nightlife. New rooftop bar to open in July In July, Academias Hotel will open its new “NYX” Rooftop Bar, an ideal spot to enjoy breathtaking views of the Acropolis and the Lycabetus hill. “Academias Hotel is pleased to open its doors again and welcome its guests to Athens. The hotel has set a new standard for luxury accommodation in Athens and we are excited about our new roof top bar ‘NYX’ opening in July with stunning views of the Acropolis,” the hotel’s management said. The hotel is the first in Athens to be added as a member of the Marriott Group’s Autograph Collection Hotels, a chain of hotels that are rich in craft and character, design, architecture and unexpected back-stories.
