The meeting took place at the Tourism Ministry in Athens between Kikilas and Radisson Hotel Group’s Senior Vice President Franchise, Joep Peters and the Vice President of Development, Elie Milky. Radisson Hotel Group is one of the largest hospitality groups in the world, with nine distinctive hotel brands and more than 1,600 active and under construction hotels in 120 countries. With regard to Greece, the company’s representatives briefed the minister on their future plans for Athens, Thessaloniki and island destinations. In the next few months, Radisson is expected to open the Anda Hotel Athens, a member of Radisson Individuals, in the area of Kolonaki. The opening will mark the debut of the Radisson Individuals brand in Greece and complements the existing Radisson Blu hotel complexes in Athens and on Crete, and the Radisson Blu Zaffron Resort which will open for 2022 on April 18 on Santorini. Radisson expands resort portfolio on Greek islands Moreover, the group in late January announced the expansion of its resort portfolio on the Greek islands with two new hotels after partnering with HotelBrain Group. The new agreement with HotelBrain sees Radisson Hotel Group mark the debut of its upscale Radisson brand with the Radisson Resort Plaza Skiathos, set to open later this year on the island of Skiathos. The agreement will also see the opening of the Radisson Blu Euphoria Resort on Mykonos just in time for the peak season of 2022. “The further strengthening of the presence of international brands in our country is a vote of confidence for the offered Greek tourism product and adds to Greece’s promotion as a destination to audiences that prefer the flexibility of direct bookings,” Kikilias noted after the meeting. According to the Greek tourism minister, the plans of Radisson, as well as of other international chains, contribute to creating added value for the country.
