Organized by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), the online competition aims to encourage the audience to discover new tourism experiences through video and vote for their favorite. “Nowadays, video plays a central role in the efforts of most brands. The CIFFT ‘People’s Choice’ Award brings attention to the potential of this format to promote tourism experiences in an authentic and engaging way,” CIFFT said in an announcement. Vote for Greece! The “Greece DOES have a winter” video launched in December and is part of the country’s main “All you want is Greece” campaign. The video promotes winter tourism and all the activities guests can enjoy during the season. “I am very proud of this campaign,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said in a social media post, highlighting that it is the first time that such a promotional effort focused on winter tourism has been made in Greece. “Our main goal is for Greece to be included among the winter destinations in Europe. Through the campaign we wanted to show that our Greece ALSO has a winter and that is worth traveling here to live the experience,” he added. Voting is ongoing until October 20 on CIFFT’s official website, limited to one vote per day. To vote for Greece press here. In its fifth consecutive edition, the CIFFT “People’s Choice” Award features 49 videos from 22 countries. Among the participants are tourism films from Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Fiji, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Slovenia, Spain, Taiwan, and Uganda. The winner will be revealed on October 21 on the CIFFT website and social networks. The 49 videos also participate in the CIFFT Circuit, a global competition for tourism films endorsed by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the European Travel Commission (ETC), among other institutions.
