Dusit Suites: 5-star Thai-inspired Hospitality Comes to Athens

Thailand’s Dusit Hotels and Resorts has made its debut in Europe with the Dusit Suites Athens in Greece.

Located in Glyfada, on the Athenian Riviera, the new 5-star hotel, which is the first of the “Dusit Suites” brand, recently opened its doors and is receiving its first guests in a fully revamped boutique environment.

The upper upscale Dusit Suites Athens features 36 elegantly designed suites that offer views of the Saronic Gulf. Travelers can choose among five distinctive types of suites (with sizes ranging from 34 sqm to 60 sqm), each offering a modern and spacious experience.

All suites have a private balcony with views of either the sea, the mountain and greenery, or the city lights. They feature wooden floors, striking artworks and calming earth tones in the soft furnishings.

The Dusit Suites Athens also has an outdoor pool, an indoor heated pool (the Vitality Pool) and the Namm Spa where highly trained Thai therapists are on call to ascertain a unique wellness journey for all guests.

As for dining options, Dusit Suites Athens offers two restaurants: Dusit’s signature DAO restaurant with Pan Asian cuisine and O live on the roof top, which will focus on Mediterranean cuisine. The TAO and O live restaurants cater both to hotel guests and visitors and can also set the stage for informal business meetings and events.

The hotel is located just a few steps away from the popular golden-sand stretch of Asteras Glyfada Beach, and within convenient access to the historic city centre of Athens and Athens International Airport (AIA).

Second Dusit hotel to open in Glyfada

An investment of Egyptian entrepreneur Emad El Hazek, the new Dusit Suites Athens aims to add Thai-inspired hospitality to the Greek hotel scene.

According to sources, the entrepreneur has plans to open a second Dusit-branded hotel in Glyfada under the “Devarana” brand and is also looking to invest in a third property most likely on the island of Mykonos. A luxury brand, “Devarana” builds on Dusit’s reputation for top resorts, but focuses more on providing an experience to its guests.

The opening of the Dusit Suites Athens in Greece is part of the expansion plans of Dusit Hotels and Resorts for 2023 which see a total of 14 hotels and resorts (approximately 1,700 keys) to be added to the chain’s portfolio across China, Greece, India, Japan, Kenya, Nepal, and Thailand, resulting in 62 hotels (approximately 13,700 keys) operating across 17 countries worldwide. According to Dusit, more than 60 properties are in the pipeline and expected to open within the next three-to-four years.
