Born in Heraklion, Crete, Flouris studied Economics at the University of Athens. He continued his studies, at postgraduate level, in Business Administration at Oxford Brookes University (specializing in consumer behaviour). He holds a specialization diploma in Business Technology Strategy from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He has many years of professional experience, mainly in the field of financial, investment and consulting services, occupying positions of responsibility including Director of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. His professional journey includes positions at Ernst & Young (EY) Greece, KPMG Greece and the National Bank of Greece. Flouris’ interests include digital transformation and applied business innovation, in which he has significant experience. In recent years, he has participated in many startup (and social) entrepreneurship initiatives, actively supporting the Greek technology innovation ecosystem and highlighting its importance in the country’s digital maturation and development model. He is married and the father of two children. Flouris is one of the 63 new secretary generals and special secretaries appointed to Greek ministries by the new government one month after elections. He succeeds Olympia Anastasopoulou, attorney at law accredited to the Supreme Court of Greece.
