The Flisvos Marina on the Attica coast in Paleo Faliro has evolved over the last two decades into a leading mega yachting destination thanks to the implementation of a set of best practices.

The marina is set to achieve 22 million euros in turnover and a net profit of 3.5 million euros in 2023 and is focusing its new investment plan on the digitalization of services after 20 years of operations.

“The Flisvos Marina upholds its main policies for the environment, society and quality management flexibly adapting its goals to the conditions of the time,” said Lamda Marinas Investments Managing Director Stavros Katsikadis during a special 20-year anniversary event this week.

He went on to announce that the company plans to invest in technology, with the installation of a 5G network at all piers, an electric boat charging network, a photovoltaic power generation system, and is also aiming to establish a marina management training and careers day.

A Lamda Development project, the Flisvos Marina achieved 100 percent full capacity in 2021 demonstrating its leading position in Greece and the wider Mediterranean region.

In 2021, 310 professional and private pleasure boats were permanently docked at the marina. The majority of vessels moored at the marina are private boats with annual berthing contracts. The marina handled a total of 585 vessels in 2021: 237 in transit and 347 permanent.

In the same year, 21 percent were professional boats compared to 20 percent in 2020 and 17.7 percent in 2019. The number of private boats in 2021 dropped to 79 percent from 80 percent in 2020 and 82.3 percent in 2019.

In terms of flags in 2021, 20.4 percent were from the Cayman Islands, 17.5 percent from Greece, 16.1 percent from the UK, 15.9 percent from Malta, 3.8 percent from the US, 3.2 percent from Poland, 3.0 percent from the Channel Islands, 3.0 percent from Italy, and 17.1 percent other.

Among others, the marina has repeatedly been awarded for its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and its effective management.

Based on revenue, the Flisvos Marina accounts for 22 percent of the domestic market and can accommodate yachts measuring 30 meters or more. The marina extends across 8,200m2 and includes leisure facilities, green spaces, and 650 parking spaces.

Last year, the marina was awarded as the best “Smart and Sustainable Marina” during an international competition by the Monaco Marina Management at the Monaco Yacht Club.

Lamda Development was awarded the 40-year concession deal for the marina in 2002. Stavros Katsikadis is also the president of the Greek Marinas Association (GMA).
