According to the report which presents the emerging trends for the year ahead, exotic destinations and unforgettable experiences are trending for travel in 2024 with all the more travelers looking to do new things, visit new places, get more personalized experiences, immerse into authentic culture, nature, history and cuisine of the destination. That said, the five leading destination choices for 2024 according to the survey are Italy in Number 1 spot, followed by Alaska (2nd), Greece (3rd), Riviera Maya, Mexico (4th) and Portugal (5th). Key travel trends for 2024 see all-inclusive travel in Number 1 spot, followed by river cruising (2nd), multigenerational travel (3rd), ocean cruising (4th), and small-group travel (5th). These include destinations in South Africa, followed by Eastern Europe, Japan, Thailand and Antarctica. In terms of reasons for travel, in the lead are bucket-list trips, personalized experiences (2nd), discovering off-the-beaten-path destinations (3rd), authentic travel experiences (4th), and artificial intelligence-assisted travel planning (5th). “People’s sense of adventure has been awakened. People are prioritizing their bucket lists like never before and giving themselves the gift of travel,” said Nicole Mazza, chief marketing officer AMG. “They’re not waiting anymore for when, if or how.
