Brown Hotels is joining forces with leading education institution BCA College to develop a modern one-year hospitality and tourism training program. The program, which gives students a Diploma in Resorts and Hotel Operations Management, combines theory and practice in the fields of hotel operations, marketing, finance and human resources. Those who enroll in the program can also gain hands-on experience in one of the hotels of Brown Hotels, one of the fastest growing hotel companies in Greece. Referring to the new collaboration with BCA College during a press event in Athens, Brown Hotels’ founder, Leon Avigad, highlighted that the tourism industry today requires highly qualified workers and therefore tourism education should be digitized and different from the past. Leon Avigad, founder of Brown Hotels. “Kindness and a smile remain important factors in hospitality but are no longer enough… Our high expertise in the field of hospitality led us to the decision to teach the new generation the modern trends of the industry in collaboration with BCA College,” he said. According to Avigad, the program will teach hospitality according to a completely modern approach, which includes business intelligence, AI, chatGPT and popular apps such as Tik Tok. The Diploma in Resorts and Hotel Operations Management program offers a curriculum that covers all aspects of hotel operation and management and prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the global hospitality industry. Courses includes Room Division front office; Food and Beverage; Marketing and Sales; Reservations, Pricing, and Revenue; Conferences and Event Planning; Crisis Management, among others. The program’s faculty will consist of experienced professionals and academics from BCA College academic faculty as well as Brown’s Hotels professional team, who will share their knowledge and insights with students. Theoretical courses will take place at BCA College’s state-of-the-art campus on Alexandras Avenue that includes modern facilities and equipment to enhance the learning experience. The program includes courses on Brown Hotels premises which will offer hands-on experience in real situations. The Diploma in Resorts and Hotel Operations Management program also includes internship at one of the hotels and resorts of Brown Hotels. “BCA College is constantly looking for ways to interface with the labor market and especially with the tourism sector, where there is an immediate need for trained staff, as the country has become a magnet for significant and quality investments, such as that of Brown Hotels,” BCA College Executive Director Harris Daskalakis said. The Diploma in Resorts and Hotel Operations Management program officially starts in October 2024 (fall semester) and will include six courses.
