Greek Travel Agents, Media Explore the ‘Celebrity Ascent’ in Piraeus

The Celebrity Ascent, the newest ship of Celebrity Cruises recently docked in Greece’s largest port, Piraeus, giving journalists and tourism professionals the opportunity to experience its top-notch services.

The fourth and newest ship in Celebrity Cruises’ innovative Edge class, the Celebrity Ascent was built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyards in Saint Nazaire, France. The ship made its maiden voyage in November 2023 in the Caribbean. It has a gross tonnage of 141,420 tons, a length of 327 meters, 17 decks, and can accommodate up to 3,260 passengers in double cabins.

Navigator Travel & Tourist Services, Celebrity Cruises’ representative in Greece, Cyprus, and Bulgaria, gave guests a tour of the ship’s premises, unveiling her special services and itineraries.

Until mid-October, the “Ascent” will sail from Civitavecchia, Rome, or Barcelona, offering 7-night itineraries in the Western Mediterranean, visiting ports such as Portofino, Ajaccio, Valencia, and Mallorca.

Additionally, two itineraries will depart from Piraeus, sailing to Santorini, Kusadasi, Mykonos, and Naples before arriving in Civitavecchia, Rome.

At the end of October 2024, the ship will dock in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from where it will operate 7-night cruises to the most popular destinations in the Western and Eastern Caribbean.

Unique features of an Edge-Class ship

Passengers on the “Ascent” will enjoy the distinctive features that define Edge-class ships, including the first outward-facing design that maximizes views and outdoor spaces, allowing guests to connect with the environment around them.

Additionally, the ship boasts more than 30 dining venues for both casual and fine dining, satisfying every palate. The spacious yet elegant staterooms are ideal for solo travelers, couples, and families.

Embodying all the qualities that earned the Edge class the title of “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine, Celebrity Ascent provides signature experiences such as:

– The Theater: With a perfect view from any seat, the theater introduces three all-new production shows with programming exclusive to Celebrity Ascent, brought to life through state-of-the-art technology.

– The Rooftop Garden: An outdoor haven where guests can enjoy live music, movies, infinity pools, and dining at the Rooftop Garden Grill.

– The Spa: Offering a holistic wellness journey with 120 treatments inspired by the ship’s destinations, the SEA Thermal Suite has eight unique nature-inspired healing experiences, a full-service salon, and a barber shop.

– The Magic Carpet: The world’s first at-sea lounge hanging at the edge of the ship, offering panoramic views and a new way of entertainment.

– The Grand Plaza and the Martini Bar: Three decks open to create an airy venue where passengers can enjoy talented bartenders performing exciting Flash Flair Fusion shows.

– Modernized Accommodation Options: Among them are the Infinite Veranda cabins that transform from window cabins to veranda cabins at the touch of a button, and AquaClass® cabins for wellness seekers, carefully designed to offer exclusive amenities.

– Le Voyage Restaurant by Daniel Boulud: First introduced on Celebrity Beyond, this redesigned space created by KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group offers an intimate dining experience inspired by the chef’s travels.
