The fourth and newest ship in Celebrity Cruises’ innovative Edge class, the Celebrity Ascent was built at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyards in Saint Nazaire, France. The ship made its maiden voyage in November 2023 in the Caribbean. It has a gross tonnage of 141,420 tons, a length of 327 meters, 17 decks, and can accommodate up to 3,260 passengers in double cabins. Navigator Travel & Tourist Services, Celebrity Cruises’ representative in Greece, Cyprus, and Bulgaria, gave guests a tour of the ship’s premises, unveiling her special services and itineraries. Photo © Greek Travel Pages Until mid-October, the “Ascent” will sail from Civitavecchia, Rome, or Barcelona, offering 7-night itineraries in the Western Mediterranean, visiting ports such as Portofino, Ajaccio, Valencia, and Mallorca. Additionally, two itineraries will depart from Piraeus, sailing to Santorini, Kusadasi, Mykonos, and Naples before arriving in Civitavecchia, Rome. At the end of October 2024, the ship will dock in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from where it will operate 7-night cruises to the most popular destinations in the Western and Eastern Caribbean. Unique features of an Edge-Class ship Passengers on the “Ascent” will enjoy the distinctive features that define Edge-class ships, including the first outward-facing design that maximizes views and outdoor spaces, allowing guests to connect with the environment around them. Additionally, the ship boasts more than 30 dining venues for both casual and fine dining, satisfying every palate.
