The Public Benefit Enterprise of Aegina Municipality, the Municipal Sport Organization of Aegina, the Municipal Section of Aegina and OAK of Aegina (Sport Club) organize the 6th road race “Ioannis Kapodistrias” under the auspices of Attica Region, Aegina Municipality and SEGAS. Many local organizations and institutions support the race too.
Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first governor of the modern Greece, is the most important figure of country’s contemporary history. Aegina island was his arrival spot, where he entered administration duties and called Aegina as country’s first capital. This race is organized within the frame of the island’s festivities to honor Ioannis Kapodistrias.
Many sport activities will be held alongside with the main race of 10km and 5,4km walk race.
