Τhe multiple award-winning sports tourism event “Navarino Challenge” comes back for the 5th year in a row on October 13th to 15th 2017, in Messinia and in Costa Navarino! This year’s event will be held in October aiming to assist the extension of region’s tourism season.
In “Navarino Challenge” each year participate people of all ages. The non-competitive event aims to raise awareness about the benefits of healthy living, exercise and the Mediterranean diet as well as the issue of childhood obesity through its numerous sports activities.
In the agenda of “Navarino Challenge” will include the Half Marathon, the 10km route, the 5km route (running and dynamic walking), the 1km for children and the activities of open water swimming, climbing, bike-riding, pilates, boccia, basketball and kick boxing, and activities such as SUP (Stand up Paddling), golf, baby swimming, aqua aerobics and diving while the people attending should expect even more surprises.
Τhe event has also been honored in Tourism Awards with Gold Award in the categories “Sports Tourism”, “Strategic Partnership” & “Tourism of Health and Wellness” and with Silver Award in the category “Public Relations – Media Coverage”. It has been distinguished by the European Commission & the Hellenic General Secretariat of Sports for its participation in the European Week of Sport 2015. In its first participation at Ermis Awards, “Navarino Challenge” won the highest distinction in the annual event that was held in honor of the best advertising and communication companies in Greece, by winning the Grand Ermis award for the entire Event Production category and the Gold Award in the category of the sports events!
Once again, the event will be implemented with the support of Costa Navarino and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino, as well as the Municipalities of Pylos-Nestor and Trifilia.
