Sea Tourism Small Ferries Link Corfu And Sarande by GTP editing team 1 May 2000 written by GTP editing team 1 May 2000 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 A total of up to 500 people a day can visit Sarande from Corfu and vice-versa thanks to three small ferries which carry out three sailings daily. The sailings were resumed after disturbances a few years back and now there is an upward trend regarding passenger travel. Twice a week the same ferries carry out sailings to Himare, which provide this historic and tourist region with the opportunity to exit from isolation due to a lack in infrastructure. Restoration of communication with Corfu since last summer has led to an improvement in tourist conditions in Himare. Recently, some 60 members of the Society of Greek Guides, which represents various travel agencies from all over the country, visited the region’s sights and historic and cultural monuments.
