Britain, in an attempt to get a bigger a piece of the action, promotes itself as an ideal destination locally. The latest effort by the British Embassy here to promote what the UK has to offer is the production of a tourist guide to the UK, in Greek. The guide covers areas and subjects likely to of interest to Greek travelers, as well as articles on some of Britain’s well-known attractions. And besides the general tourism information, the guide suggests new areas to see and new things to do while in the UK. In addition, it covers issues such as learning English and combining business and pleasure while in Britain. The 28-page free guide is in magazine style and is available free of charge from the information section of the British Embassy in Athens.
