Upon completion of its extensive and even radical renovations, at a cost of some five billion drachmas, the Athens Chandris Hotel assumes a new identity. The deluxe cosmopolitan unit heretofore becomes the Metropolitan Hotel. “We at Chandris Hotels and Resorts thought it only fitting that, in reflection of our efforts, a new name be found to match our new image,” says the hotel’s sales manager, Spyros Maganiotis. Its prime location remains the same, however, along with its entire friendly staff that continuously works to perfect their hospitality skills. The Metropolitan is a fully renovated downtown hotel ideally located in the coastal area of Athens, less than a 15-minute drive from the busy city center, five kilometers from the port of Piraeus and 11 kilometers from Hellinikon International Airport. “Our dynamic refurbishment has completely modernized the original property with the needs, comfort and safety of your clients taken into foremost consideration,” says Mr. Maganiotis. Changes included the complete renovation of all areas of the hotel, including all rooms, reception and conference areas, restaurants, bars and roof garden. As well, the hotel created a modern gymnasium equipped with the latest in gym equipment and a new business center complete with secretarial support and the use of computers and fax machines. The transformation was completed with radical changes in the exterior of the unit. Management totally renewed the surrounding outside environment and in the evening floods the entire area and hotel under soft light.
