Philoxenia, the biggest tourism exhibition in Southeast Europe and one of the largest in the Eastern Mediterranean opens October 30 this year and runs till November 2 at the Thessaloniki Exhibition Center.

Orgainizer Helexpo early last month said that 80% of all available exhibition space had been booked and that there was strong interest being displayed by possible newcomers to the fair.

Added to the list of exhibiting countries this year, said Helexpo, are Cuba and Bali, which brings the present total country participation so far to 32, and that does not count this year’s honored destination, Russia, which includes official government representation.

As in previous years, the first two days of the fair are open only to commercial visitors, while the final two days of the fair are open to the general public. This year’s special side event centers on tourism and advertising. Besides a general seminar on the subject, Helexpo will award regional authorities for the year’s best brochure.
