Discussions centered on cleanliness of cities and countryside, coordinated advertising projects and participation at major international tourism events. “Regional managers have an important role,” said the tourism development minister, ” and we have an open line of understanding with them. And I want to believe that at meetings such as this one we’ll take decisions that will be implemented so as our tourism policy will in turn be implemented within a civil, correct and clean environment.” The minister said that Greek tourism has entered a new era where there’s a long-term strategy that supports culture, the environment and development, all in harmony. “Our main aim is to develop a complete national tourism policy that doesn’t leave any corner of our country in the dark,” said the minister.
