Culture Extended Opening Hours for Museums Sought by GTP editing team 1 September 2005 written by GTP editing team 1 September 2005 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 10 The majority of visitors to Greece’s museums feel safe and are satisfied with the services offered, however, about half complained about the opening hours, saying that they should be extended, according to a poll made public last month. The survey, conducted for the Culture Ministry, found that 92.5 percent of the 2,718 people questioned said they felt secure at the museums, while just over 80 percent gave a thumbs-up for the service received. Some 52 percent replied that they would like to see an extension to opening hours, while almost half thought that archaeological sites are not well maintained. The price of entry tickets was a sore point, especially among Greek museum-lovers. Deputy Culture Minister Petros Tatoulis said that the poll results would help the ministry to make future improvements. The poll surveyed Greeks and foreigners visiting the Acropolis and the National Archaeological Museum between June 26 and July 3.
