Independent tour operator Cosmorama, based in downtown Athens, was recently appointed exclusive sub-agent in Greece for Holland America Line. The contract was signed earlier in the year and both companies are now well on the road to establishing a fruitful cooperation, says Cosmorama’s managing director, Panagiotis Iliadis.

He says that the booming net revenue gain of the cruise industry worldwide recorded in 2004 is a challenging alternative for the Greek outgoing market and that both his company and Holland America are convinced that Greece, as a niche market, has a lot of potential.

According to the business plan agreed to by both sides, Cosmorama undertakes the preparation and execution of a full-scale campaign to introduce and promote Holland America Line products within Greek tourism market.

The 2006 Greek edition of HAL brochure will be available this month and will be distributed by the company’s sales department through a door-to- door promotion project to travel agencies.
