Philoxenia To Award Quality Tourism

Improving the quality of Greek tourism is goal behind the “Philoxenia Tourism Awards” to be granted for the first time at this year’s Philoxenia tourism fair being held November 16 – 19.

“We want to award the best in order to create competition for the provision of better services to Greek and foreign visitors,” said Aristotelis Thomopoulos, Helexpo’s president. “As the leading tourism fair in the country, we are obligated to contribute our initiatives to improving the quality and competitiveness of Greek tourism,” Mr. Thomopoulos added.

Awards will be granted for most popular tourism destinations and the best hotels. The awards for the travel destination will include categories such as the most-loved coastal, mountain, countryside and city destination. Other categories will include the most romantic destination, the most family-friendly destination, and the most beautiful traditional settlement.

The best hotel awards will also include categories such as the most popular seaside or countryside hotel, the most luxurious, the best hotel spa and the best hotel restaurant.

Voting is open to all those interested and all who participate will be eligible for the drawing featuring trips to the winning hotels. The drawing will take place on November 16 during the official award ceremony. Philoxenia is also inaugurating its new “Philoxenia Spa Exhibition” for health and beauty tourism.
